Stopping time

Britain , Europe and much of the world will stand still for 2 mins today at midday , planes won't fly , TV's wont broadcast even trains won't move .. just for 2 mins

it's become a tradition and is seen as a moment to reflect and show respect to those that have died (in this case the 52 people killed in the london attack)

I am not one to break tradition and some people do need something like this to be able to move on.
although it has entered my mind of what it would be like if we showed the same respect to everyone in the world who has died in this "war on terror" and after each new death we repeated this gesture , it would be like time standing still . i have yet to understand why Place of birth = value of life .

"There are some things which cannot be learned quickly, and time, which is all we have, must be paid heavily for their acquiring. They are the very simplest things, and because it takes a man's life to know them the little new that each man gets from life is very costly and the only heritage he has to leave"

-Ernest Hemingway

everyone deserves his time . i wonder how many today will pay equal thought to all those needless deaths , in a perfect world they all would Here

I wish everlasting peace to all those who have suffered or lost family in any attack, wether it is state sponsored or terrorist. It does not diminish the fact that innocent civilians are the ones that it usually effects.

The 2 minutes in europe just seem to "generic" for me.
What about the children who died in Iraq this week?
How about Dafur? Why when there is a so called terrorist attack in USA or Europe everyone rushes to wrap themselves in their prospective flags, a few moments of silence, a course or two of "god bless america" or "God save the Queen". Are we so high and mighty above the rest of the world?

Why would god choose to bless America? If such a god exists, I don't doubt he would punish the USA right off the map.
And god save the Queen! This is to funny. Please tell me what exactly the Royal's have done for any Brits? Or any humans for that matter. Plus the Royal's have more than enough money that they don't need to trick the public into asking God to bless them, they can buy all the blessings they want.

God bless the Innocent victims of our fucked up foreign policy's. The children who die from our sanctions, the people with no voice of their own. The people caught up in this "war on terror". The people who's country is now soaked in depleted uranium. They will continue to suffer and die long after this farce ends.

We pretend to be civilized, we are anything but!
