Angry Iraqi citizens start to form their own militia
Iraqis have begun barricading themselves in their homes and forming neighborhood militias in an effort to fend off relentless suicide attacks

This is so sad that it has come to this. Every minute of everyday brings Iraq closer and closer to civil war.
I read an interesting article today regarding "Radical" Shia cleric Moqtada Sadr. It was amazing to see him singing a different tune about the occupiers. He basically told his followers to 'stand down' against the occupiers (us). Sadr went on to say he fells that we aren't there as aggressors (which is a 360 degree turn around from what he has said in the past) He seemed very rational, and spoke of the state of Iraq. I believe what he said was after the past weeks bombings they are inches from a very serious civil war.
My thought is;
is it possible we have been negotiating with Sadr all along. Could it possibly be we bought him off? Could this maybe be the next puppet dictator?
There is no way all the people of Iraq are going to agree on a constitution. Isn't this basically how we set up Saddam in the first place?

yes exactly how we set up saddam .. i just watched the full sadr interview on the BBC
as you say interesting reading . it seems that sadr is hedging his bets . on the one hand his supporters are supporting the democratic process(i think he has 13 members in the iraq puppet government) and on the other he is slowly moving towards having his own armed miltia in almost all towns in the south of iraq
the british and american seem to be allowing him to do this so now on any one street in iraq you could have
american soldiers
British soldiers
Iraqi soldiers
Iraqi police
Local Based Militia
and sadr's Militia
sadr said in the interview
Resistance is legitimate at all levels be it religious, intellectual and so on," Mr Sadr said, in his first interview with Western media.
"The first person who would acknowledge this is the so-called American President Bush who said 'if my country is occupied, I will fight'."
so i think he is being carefull with his words but it is clear that if (and you know i mean when) democracy fails in iraq his troops will be already in position to start the revolution
sadr want's a Muslim run country and is willing to get it via democracy but once in power he would be the shia version of the sunni saddam
there are alot of cards being held under the table in this
as for the civil war . i dont think there is any other name for it
sunni killing shia , shia killing sunni , every day !
thats a civil war in any book if you ask me
